Shinto Towel took the middle layer of the traditional 20-count 3-ply gauze and replaced it with a 1/2-weight weave and utilize an irregular weave to produce a unique, exquisitely soft texture. Lighter, softer and quick to dry, and still highly absorbent, the 2.5-PLY GAUZE TOWEL comes in Large sizes, plus a longer scarf type and washcloth. Shinto created a natural depth in colour by slightly varying the dye for the warp and weft.

Towels are traditionally woven with starched fibres, as this increases durability, but the starch can repel water and thus affects absorbency. By washing and bleaching after weaving, the starch, oils, and other impurities in the fibre can be removed, allowing better absorbency while preserving its fluffy texture.
